This editorial article presents the stance and fundamental principles of open science. It argues that science must combine methodological rigor with social relevance, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue to address the complex problems of each region. In this way, scientific publications establish themselves as spaces that prioritize ethical peer review and adopt open access as an essential model. Thus, scientific knowledge becomes a public good that circulates without barriers.
