In this paper, a Computational Tool called Improved Oil Recovery by Microorganisms (HCRMAM) was developed. With this, the applicability of on-site and off-site microbial processes to oil fields is technically and economically assessed as an improved recovery method. In this study, the most relevant selection guides and economic indicators were proposed and concentrated, with which their feasibility was evaluated. The HC-RMAM was validated with 16 national and international fields, obtaining satisfactory results in 100%. Subsequently, 33 fields were technically analysed which were 100 % viable for the ex situ subprocess. For the in situ subprocess, 27 fields were analyzed which were not viable because the survival of the microorganism is not assured. Regarding the economic analysis, 2 of the 33 fields presented a positive Net Present Value (NPV) ranging between 223 and 98 million dollars.
