Abstract

This article presents the partial results of an investigation that aims to analyze the role of the university teacher based on the changes in educational practices, which went from a classroom modality to a completely virtual, caused by the Covid-19 health crisis. The study context is confined to the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas, therefore, a methodological model guided by the assumptions of the case study is implemented, integrating the in-depth interview and content analysis as a data collection technique; Likewise, for the analysis of the information collected, the techniques of categorical summation, correspondence, and naturalistic models and generalizations are used. The main results indicate that teachers have changed the way they carry out their functions, developing digital skills to meet the new demands that the teaching and learning process requires from the total virtuality.
