Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission is original and unpublished.
- The submission is in Word format or LaTex
- Citations and references are in APA 7th edition format. All references include a DOI or a functional URL link.
- The text complies with the author's guidelines of the Mesoamerican Journal of Research (RMI).
- If copyrighted material has been used, the authorization letter is included
- It has been thoroughly reviewed to ensure there are no citations without corresponding references, and vice versa.
- Tables and figures are integrated within the document. Additionally, separate Excel files for tables and *.png files with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi for figures are attached using the "add supplementary file" option.
- The letters of originality and rights transfer are attached.
Editorial
Editorial Articles (by invitation): These articles are requested by the editorial board from distinguished experts in specific areas of knowledge. Their purpose is to highlight the relevance of digital scientific journals as essential tools for the development of academic disciplines, promoting open access and global visibility of research. Editorial articles provide a reflection on how digital publications contribute to the advancement of knowledge and facilitate the dissemination of ideas within their respective fields.
Full length paper
Original research articles present an original and unpublished study on a specific topic, describing the methodology used, the results obtained, and the conclusions reached.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Review article
In this type of contribution, a critical and thorough analysis of the existing scientific literature on a topic is presented, synthesizing and evaluating previous studies to offer an updated view of the state of knowledge.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Opiniion articles
Reflective texts that provide viewpoints on relevant topics within the journal's areas of knowledge, with an approach based on critical analysis and argumentation.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Essays
Contributions that analyze, discuss, or argue relevant topics in a reflective manner, grounded in a critical review of the existing literature.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Clinical Cases
Detailed reports on a specific case, describing its diagnosis, treatment, and evolution, with an emphasis on the applied methodology and the findings obtained.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Technical Notes
Description and analysis of new methods, techniques, or procedures applied to a specific field, aiming to contribute to professional practice in the addressed area.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Book review
In the areas of Physical-Mathematical and Earth Sciences, Biology and Chemistry, Medicine and Health Sciences, Agricultural, Livestock, Forestry, and Ecosystem Sciences, Engineering, and Technological Development: Preferably recent books (within the last 3 years). The focus is on technical aspects, research methods, and findings; the rigor, validity, and interpretation of results are analyzed, along with their impact on the understanding of natural phenomena.
Evaluation type: Single blind.
In the areas of Behavioral Sciences and Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences: Preferably recent books (within the last 3 years). The evaluation focuses on how the work contributes to understanding and debate in the field. It emphasizes discussing how the book enhances the understanding of society and human behavior, analyzing the theoretical approach, the relevance of the approach, and its impact or contribution to the understanding of social issues.
Evaluation type: Single blind.
Theoretical Article
In the context of original research articles and essays, theoretical development works are accepted that analyze the existing literature and contribute to the advancement of theory in educational, humanistic, and social fields.
Evaluation type: Double blind.
Systematization of Educational Experiences
In opinion, review, and technical articles, we accept works that systematize relevant educational experiences, provided they are reflective, comparative, or describe specific procedures, respectively.
Evaluation type: Double-blind.

Copyright Notice
The authors grant to the Mesoamerican Journal of Research, exclusively from the acceptance of the article for publication, the right to edit, publish, translate, reproduce, and disseminate the said work through print, digital, magnetic, electronic, or other means that may arise in the future.
With regard to academic rights:
i) They retain copyright, patents, trademarks, or any other intellectual property rights over the work.
ii) They can reuse the work in the same manner as allowed for third parties under the CC-BY-NC-ND license.
iii) They can use the work in future compilations within the scope of their academic activity, expand it to include it in a book, or incorporate it into thesis works.
Regarding user rights, they acknowledge that RMI is an open-access journal under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND) license.
They acknowledge that the work may be subject to retraction, removal, or replacement procedures, as appropriate, within the scope of RMI.
- Retraction: In case of errors made in the submitted work or its published version in RMI, once a retraction note is issued, online access to the work will occur after accessing that note. A watermark with the label "retracted" will be inserted on each page of the PDF, and the HTML version will be removed.
- Removal: If the published work becomes the subject of legal disputes or is involved in an action that poses a serious risk to health or society, it will be removed from the platform in all its formats, while retaining the metadata - title and author(s) - to which a note will direct, indicating that it was removed and stating the cause.
- Replacement: When the published version of the work is subject to actions that pose risks to health or society, the authors may retract the original work and publish a corrected version. Online access to the corrected work will be granted after accessing the retraction note and the history of events
Privacy Statement
Data provided by authors and reviewers to the Mesoamerican Journal of Research, whether through email or the OJS platform, will be used exclusively for the purposes established by the journal and will not be shared with third parties or used for other purposes.
By registering on the platform and/or submitting a research article, consent is granted for the personal data provided to be processed by the Autonomous University of Chiapas, a public institution of higher education that operates the Mesoamerican Journal of Research through the General Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies. This authorization is granted for the time deemed appropriate, solely for the purposes specified in its comprehensive privacy notices.
