About the Journal
Aims and Scope
The Mesoamerican Journal of Research (RMI) is a publication of the Autonomous University of Chiapas in Mexico, edited through the General Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies. Its primary objective is to promote, from the Mesoamerican region, the publication of high-quality scientific works , fostering the strengthening of scientific research in digital communication with the continent and the rest of the world. It is directed at professors, researchers, and students of all levels.
The journal welcomes original and unpublished contributions written in either Spanish or English that contribute to the development of novel ideas, concepts, or hypotheses. Research articles, reviews, theoretical works, systematization of educational experiences, and book reviews are accepted in the following areas of knowledge:
- Physical-Mathematical and Earth Sciences
- Biology and Chemistry
- Medicine and Health Sciences
- Behavioral Sciences and Education
- Humanities
- Social Sciences
- Agricultural, Livestock, Forestry, and Ecosystem Sciences
- Engineering and Technological Development
- Multidisciplinary Research

Frequency of Submission Requests
Texts can be submitted at any time of the year, without deadlines, in accordance with RMI's continuous publication policy. Papers are published as they are approved. The RMI opens two issues a year in January and July that close in June and December respectively.
Publication Costs and Distribution Format
There are no publication fees or processing charges, ensuring the accessible dissemination of knowledge. RMI is published in an open-access digital format on the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
Funding and Advertising Principles
RMI is funded by the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH) through the General Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies (DGIP). The journal refrains from including commercial advertisements or providing space for the promotion of corporate entities or products.
